Martin is a truly World-Class facilitator and coach, dedicating over 20 years of his life enabling creativity in people, teams & organisations across the globe.
Martin has a PhD and is a Harvard Graduate, having completed the prestigious “Strategic Human Resource Management” programme at Harvard Business School. He is also a member of the International Association of Facilitators and is a formally accredited EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) assessor and facilitator, a Master Practitioner and trainer of NLP, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator qualified and a certified ChangeFirst™ Change Agent consultant.
For over 20 years, Martin has held senior and executive board roles across IT, strategy, management consultancy and change management. He started as a graduate trainee with United Biscuits (UB), specialising in IT and spent 5 years working up to Senior Project Manager. Following a number of high-level consultancy assignments around the UB Group, Martin was approached by Mynshul Group (an offshoot of Swinton Insurance) becoming Group Systems and Ops Director.
He joined a central consultancy function in Barclays in 1992 where he carried out a series of high-profile assignments at all levels throughout many of the businesses in the Barclays Group. In 1998 he set up what became a hugely-successful Change Management and Organisational Design Practice in the group. This provided the springboard for Martin to set up Barclays’ influential “Creativity and Innovation Practice”. By blending all of his experience, knowledge and capability whilst facilitating a senior group in Barclays, Martin and his team unlocked enough creative potential to identify £323m of auditable cost saving ideas that previously has not been thought possible.
Over the last 7 years, Martin has branched out into freelance activities, and has designed and facilitated a plethora of different frameworks, workshops, session, residential journeys and processes for many senior teams and organizations including Oracle (UK and Ireland), Leicester General NHS Trust, Silverstone Racetrack Ltd, British Nuclear Fuels, BT, 3Com, Sun Microsystems, The Prostate Cancer Charity, Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express and ICI Paints.
Martin lives in Liverpool with his wife, Julie, and their 4 children. In their spare time, the family is strong musically, with much time taken up with concerts, rehearsals and tantrums! In his spare time (like I have much, he says) he plays golf badly, Spanish and classical guitar passably and turns his hand to DIY when sufficiently nagged.
